When Juan Garcia learned about FCA’s vision of ministry to athletes while attending a DeVos Urban Leadership Initiative, he knew he wanted to become involved: “As a former Division III athlete, I have always had a concern for the spiritual formation and development of athletes that are accustomed to getting a ‘pat on the back’ for performance. Anything I can do to be a part of that is exciting to me,” he said.
Garcia holds a B.A. in Psychology & Counseling with a concentration in Children & Family Therapy. He has served as a Social Worker for the National Head Start organization in Paterson, NJ, performing intake and assessment, as well as Case Management for community families. He is a Certified Fatherhood Practitioner for the U.S. Dept. of Human Services, a Certified Professional Life Coach, a member of the International Coach Federation and a speaker and member of the National Speakers Association, with affiliation to the NJ Chapter. Currently, Garcia is a mentor & life coach to former and current NBA and NFL players. He also speaks for the 3D Institute as a certified presenter for 3Dimensional Coaching.
