Althea Harewood has been an active supporter of FCA since 2010, when her sister participated in track and field at the FCA’s Kutztown Sports Camp. Due to the tremendous impact she witnessed with her sister, as well as her passion for the Lord, she feels extremely honored to help grow NYC FCA, particularly on her home turf.
Possessing a wealth of both not-for-profit and finance experience, Harewood is currently a Director of Finance for Related Entities at CUNY Graduate Center, where her responsibilities include financial management for several key entities, serving as a liaison to the external auditors and investment managers and interacting frequently with the University’s Foundation Investment and Finance Committee. Prior to working at the CUNY Graduate Center, she worked as a Finance and Operations Manager at New York University. She also had a decade-long career at American Express Company as an analyst in its Legal Department and Merchandise Services division. She holds a BBA and MBA in Marketing from Pace University and Long Island University Graduate School of Business, respectively.
Harewood resides in Nassau County with her husband Jason. She enjoys gardening and yearly vacations to her native country of Jamaica, West Indies. She is very active in her community and church, where she serves in numerous leadership positions on various boards and committees. One of her favorite scripture verses is John 14:1-4.
